In Cheapside

After a very exciting schedule of events over the last few summer months, we now look forward to what is ahead for the Autumn. Let’s see what’s next!

Upcoming Events

City Giving Day

27th September | 7:00am-20:00pm

Every year this event sees businesses and organisations in the City and beyond Go Red and make some noise about the power of charity, giving and philanthropy. This year’s event will take place on Tuesday 27th September 2022. This will provide you with a chance to engage with your employees, recruit volunteers, to have fun, raise money and showcase your charity partners/charitable giving.

You can organise your own events or you could sign up to take part in one of the City Giving Day events organised by or on behalf of The Lord Mayor’s Appeal: If you would like to find out more about City Giving Day, the Lord Mayor is hosting the City Giving Day 2022 Countdown Breakfast at Mansion House on Wednesday 7th September (7:45-9:30 am).

Attendees at the breakfast will hear from some of the organisations taking part this year and will leave with a checklist and top tips to help you make the most of your City Giving Day.

Please email cgd@thelordmayorsappeal.org to register for the breakfast.

Destination City Launch Event

15th October | Free | Across the City

A spectacular free event will transform the City of London’s streets with a huge programme of theatre, games, and performance on Saturday 15 October.

Featuring over 100 performers, the family-friendly highlights include a mass treasure hunt, 16 doors into a ‘maze’ of adventures, three carnival-inspired fairs, and creative street theatre. It is the first major event planned by the City of London Corporation under its new flagship Destination City programme. Launched in May, the initiative will transform the Square Mile’s leisure offer, creating a leading destination for UK and international visitors, workers, and residents to enjoy.

The three fairs will open up for discovery at famous City locations including Guildhall and the Museum of London, with festival entertainment for everyone.  A line-up of landmark Square Mile public spaces and iconic sites will feature in the programme, alongside secret hideaways, and subterranean adventures in the historic heart of the capital.

More information will be shared in September.

Winter Flu Jab Service

Free | Across the City

As we look forward to the exciting events going into Autumn and Winter don’t forget to also look after yourself and protect your loved ones.

Boots is offering the Winter Flu Jab Service.  The best way to help protect is to have a flu jab every year. Over time, protection from the flu jab gradually decreases and flu strains mutate. This means a previous flu jab may not protect you from this year’s strains. So, book now to prepare right here in Cheapside and across the City in any of the following Boot’s store with Pharmacy.

The flu service will be available from the following stores.

Find out more: www.boots.com/flu

Additionally, the COVID vaccination service will continue to be available from Boots in Fleet Street.

Delivered by Pembroke in partnership with Tom Stuart-Smith, the Reflection Garden at 25 Cannon Street is prominently located opposite Festival Gardens at St Paul’s, offering a space for visitors and the urban workforce to enjoy the wellbeing benefits of a tranquil green space, while providing new habitats for local wildlife and encouraging greater biodiversity in this corner of the City.

Sustainability and accessibility have been at the core of 25 Cannon Street’s refurbishment, with measures to reduce carbon emissions and prioritise wellbeing.
