SoCal Communities Choosing CPA’s 100% Green Power Option to Create a Sustainable Future

Seven cities and one county are choosing 100% Green Power as their default energy option this fall to make their communities and Southern California cleaner, healthier, and more resilient. These communities have taken an important step toward achieving significant reductions of greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to statewide clean air goals.

Starting this October, Beverly Hills, Camarillo, Claremont, Hawthorne, Redondo Beach, unincorporated Los Angeles County, and businesses in Rolling Hills Estates and South Pasadena are joining other Clean Power Alliance communities that have already established themselves as environmental champions.

Collectively, they will reduce approximately 2.3 billion pounds in greenhouse gas emissions annually and add to the growing movement of SoCal cities working together to protect our future.

Meet the Staff - Scott Gropp

Tell us about your background.

I am originally from Indiana and began my legal career with a judicial clerkship after graduating from Indiana University’s Maurer School of Law. I became interested in the contract management/procurement space after moving to Seattle in 2014.  I enjoy that it lets me use my legal background while being more involved in the daily operations of a business.

My husband (a former Angeleno) and I moved to Los Angeles in 2021. After moving, I began searching for an opportunity that would allow me to become more involved in serving my local community, which led me to CPA.

What responsibilities do you have here at Clean Power Alliance?

As the Strategic Sourcing Manager, I manage the procurement of goods and services to support a wide variety of business requirements.

I work with business leads to identify procurement needs and facilitate key aspects of the solicitation process, including notifying potential vendors of procurement opportunities, holding bidder conferences, responding to vendor questions, evaluating offers, and managing the contract negotiation process with successful bidders.

What are you most proud of in working here at CPA?

I’m proud to be part of an amazing team that is passionate about the work they do and dedicated to truly supporting a just and sustainable clean energy future.

Thank You

CPA thanks our customers for participating in energy saving measures during an unprecedented heat wave last week. Following the recommended actions to reduce electricity use during critical periods of extreme temperatures and high demand on the grid, helped prevent power outages. We recognize the disruption that the daily asks for conservation can take on people’s lives and applaud the collective efforts that made such a big difference during an extraordinary time.
