Old Farts...
A quick look at weather for tomorrow’s visit to Tampa North X39, is pretty good. There is some IFR shown “around” for the early morning hours. “Most” South Florida reporting stations are calling for MVFR to VFR by 7:00 a.m. Winds are listed in the 10-15 knot range… from the northeast. That means a crosswind into 14/32. No way to guess at this point which direction we will be landing. Monitor the CTAF at 123.05 for traffic advisories. Remember, runway 14 is RIGHT traffic. Runway 32 is LEFT. Also, there is no parallel taxiway. If landing 32 and it’s busy, land and roll long… wait for a group to form and taxi back together when pattern is clear.
As of Wednesday morning, I have just thirty aircraft on my RSVP list. By spreading out over breakfast and lunch, there should not be excessive traffic in the pattern. That said, if you did not RSVP, and decide you’d like to attend this one… feel free to join us.
I have three, maybe four cars lined up to shuttle folks from the FBO/Restaraunt area to “Streetside Classics”. As mentioned in my initial post, the walk is quite doable for most of us. I’m guessing it’s about a half mile each way. A good way to work off those “Happy Hangar Cafe” pancakes that hang over the edge of the plate!!!
That’s all for now. I’ll be seeing some of you tomorrow. As always.. “Keep the Shiny Side Up!”
