2019 Certification is Available Now!
Due by August 10, 2018
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has released the 2019 training for all Enrollment Counselors (ECs) as well as Certified Application Counselors (CACs).

Six easy steps to get you certified:

STEP 1: If you haven't already, create an account on the CMS portal. Here's a video about how to do that. (Note: there's no sound in this video.)

STEP 2: Log into your account and take the training. Here's a different video that will get you started.
  • New CACs/ECs must take all four (4) modules under the "required" category and all eight (8) modules under the "optional" categories.
  • Re-certifying CACs/ECs are able to take a more condensed version of module requirements: All four (4) modules in the "required" category, and modules 008, 010, 011, and Assister Feedback in the "optional" category. (See diagram below.)
  • Native American certification training is required for all new and re-certifying CACs/ECs. See instructions in step six.
STEP 3: When you pass all the required modules, take a screenshot of the page that displays all the modules (see example below). Be sure to include your name in the screenshot - it's listed at the top right of the page.

STEP 4: Take Native American Cultural Awareness Training (provided beWellnm, not the CMS portal). To sign up for the training, send an email with the subject line "2019 Native American Training Request" to partners@nmhix.com and include the following information in the body of the email:
  • Full Name
  • Organization your affiliated with
  • Phone number

A message from the
Director of Education and Outreach
As we begin preparation for 2019 Open Enrollment, I wanted to take moment and express that on behalf of beWellnm, we appreciate your support and contribution to assisting in reducing the uninsured rate in New Mexico. Your role as a trusted resource is valuable to our community. This is apparent with over 4,500 consumers in 2017 going through Enrollment Counselors and/or a Certified Application Counselors, to secure their insurance coverage through the Marketplace.

Sincerely,
Maureen Manring
Director of Education & Outreach
New CACs must take all of these modules - both the "required" and "optional."
Returning CACs can skip the circled modules (005, 006, 007, and 009) if they wish, but we recommend taking them anyway if the time can be found.
When you finish training, you'll need to take a screenshot of this page (each module you've passed will be labeled "complete") and email it to peter@waitecompany.com. Be sure to include your name in the screenshot (top right).
