Don Dietz was happy to share with us about his 18-year-old nephew, Grayson Rodriquez who recently graduated from Central Heights. Grayson is the son of Tyan’s sister, Temple, and was voted #1 High School Baseball in the nation. Grayson is 6’-5-1/2”, 235# right-handed pitcher whose fast ball reached 98 MPH helped Central Heights win State last year and Bi-region this year. He was offered several scholarships to play baseball including one for a 90% scholarship to Texas A&M but turned it down because he was drafted #11 by the Baltimore Orioles in the first round of the Major League. Spring training camp was spent in Sarasota and his first farm league game was very successful. Presently his ERA (Earned Run Average) is 0.0 in three games, five innings and zero runs. Grayson gives all the credit to his parents, Gilbert and Temple Rodriquez.

L-R in the photo is Don and Tyan Dietz; Grayson’s mom, Temple Rodriguez; his girlfriend, Madison; Grayson; his grandmother, Linda Greer; his dad, Gilbert and his little 10-year-old brother who is already throwing a 60 MPH fast ball and predicted to be 6’ 7”. Remember the name Grayson Rodriquez and watch for him when the Baltimore Orioles are playing.

Jay Wyatt sent us the following to share.  FBC Diboll hosted a July 4th Celebration on the back lawn of the church last Wednesday. 75 children, youth and adults had a great time playing volleyball, basketball and fellowshipping with one another. The children really enjoyed the two blowup water slides. Hot dogs, homemade ice cream, and several other goodies made the event even more enjoyable.

If you are looking for a church come visit us. Sunday School starts at 9:45 am and the Morning Worship at 11 am. Hope to see you there.

Louise Spicer has been looking forward to celebrating her 100th birthday which will be August 3, 2018.  She was pleasantly surprised when she received a birthday card in the mail from our President and his wife, Melania.

Louise resides with her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Phil Hall, of Diboll.  Her granddaughter and husband are Carrie and Kenny Hibbs, Pastor of First Baptist Church.  Her two great granddaughters, Amber and Autumn, who also live in Diboll.

Louise will be celebrating this big event on August 4th, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the Fellowship Building at First Baptist Church, Diboll. Everyone is welcome to join Louise in celebrating her 100th birthday.
