Welcome to our first Homestay Newsletter, a publication that will be e-mailed to our Waihi College host family community each fortnight. We will communicate key tips and reminders, celebrate our student's adventures and achievements and share ideas with other host families. If you have a question, idea, photo or suggestion, I would love to hear from you. Please e-mail me with your contribution.
Everyone loves a competition, so lets start off with one. Submit your ideas for the name of this new initiative, to replace 'Homestay News' (which is a bit boring!) The winner will be revealed in the next publication. Make sure to check it out!
We have a fabulous new intake of students representing many different countries and cultures; Germany, Japan, China, Korea, Chile, France, Italy, Switzerland, Taiwan and Norway.
END OF YEAR PROGRAMME
Our End of Year Programme (EOY) will begin in term four when our NCEA senior students start their study leave. This year the EOY Programme will include a mix of academic school-based activities and classes, as well as some fun trips, activities, camps etc. The programme will be subsidised by the school and participation will be compulsory for all students. More info on this to come.
