Old Farts...
I tried to drop the ball on this one 😬. Dave and Jeanne Allen, along with Grassroots Airpark developer, David Gay… have again invited us to visit their stunning “Field of Dreams”. We are headed there on Thursday, March 17th… St. Patrick’s Day. I will be sending out a more detailed invitation in the next few days. It will include specifics such as a parking and taxi diagram, frequencies, times, etc.
For now, we are planning on lunch served from 10 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The food provider is a top notch food truck called… “The Big Hot Box”. Early birds are welcome and there will be coffee and donuts available.
Here is where I tried to drop the ball!!!
The food providers have asked for an early approximation of lunches they will be serving. They would like a headcount by tomorrow… Thursday, March 10. Please use the “HEADCOUNT” tab attached to this email. It will ask for the number in your party. Please get that “Headcount” number to me by mid afternoon tomorrow, Thursday, March 10th. As soon as I return from our Old Farts gathering in Okeechobee, I will tally the numbers and get the total off to the food truck people.
I realize it is difficult to “commit” this far out. Please… if you are reasonably sure you’ll make this one… get me that number. This is more for planning purposes than a hard and fast RSVP. Thanks!!!
I did take a peek at the long range forecast for March 17. It looks beautiful… VFR, light winds, temps in upper seventies!!! Previous visits to Grassroots Airpark have been some of our best attended and most enjoyable. The wonderful grass runway 18/36 is 3,400 long and 120 ft. wide. It truly is a “Field of Dreams”. Try to make this one!
