Old Farts...
Weather for our visit to the Wellington Aero Club was much better than forecast. Consequently, we had forty aircraft on hand. Again, a big variety… from light sport to light twins! Our hosts, Steve Chefan, Marc Rodstein and Mike Canuso put on the feed bag with really good ribs, pulled pork, salad, baked beans, mac and cheese, cornbread and collard greens. It was Old Fart Roger’s 72nd birthday (actually the day before) and a giant birthday cake was enjoyed.
Terese Brown collected money at the door. When all was said and done, the cash came in at $2,170.00… about fifty bucks over expenses. We seem to be getting pretty good at this. Or just lucky!
I did my best to get photos of Old Farts with their planes. They were spread out, so I didn’t get to everyone. I want to thank Carol Wood, Wayne Nagy, Jim Scroggins and Lisa Heidinger for sending along photos for use here. The stunning sunrise over the clouds shot is from Wayne Nagy.
On the “Thank You” subject… Rod, Steve and Mike, along with their wives friends and neighbors, get a huge tip of the hat for hosting us. Of course my right hand and wife, Terese needs a thank you. Also, a thank you goes out to my left hand and friend, Lisa Heidinger! They are always ready to pitch in and help. Events like this don’t just happen! Finally… all you Old Farts are really what make this thing work! Thanks to all y’all!!!
We are taking the next two Thursdays off for the holidays. Terese and I would like to wish all of you, of every persuasion, “Happy Holidays”!!! See you in the new year. Look for an invite from me for Thursday, January 6th, 2022. As always… I’m open to any and all suggestions for destinations.
