RPC Update


CBD Field Testing 

  • In preparation for the July 2019 launch of CBD in the geriatrics program, we are piloting the assessment of Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) in Medsquares.
  • When CBD is fully operational, residents will be required to successfully complete 23 EPAs over the course of their training.

  • Thanks to our early adopters – Rymon Rofaiel and Camilla Wong; Patrick Jung and Thiru Yogaparan who were the first to enter an EPA in the pilot


Dr. Barbara Liu Geriatric Medicine Resident Research and Education Award 

Donations can now be made to the Dr. Barbara Liu Geriatric Medicine Resident Research and Education Award online. Initiated by the Division of Geriatric Medicine at Sunnybrook and with funding support received to date from the geriatricians at Baycrest and St. Michael's and a promise of matched funds from Dr. Kevin Imrie. This award has been created to first, honour the exemplary work and leadership that Dr. Liu has exemplified as Program Director, and second, to support resident research opportunities and resident education activities in the UofT, Division of Geriatrics. We encourage everyone to consider making a gift to recognize Barb’s amazing work and to support our future trainees!

Geriatric Medicine Annual Retreat

The annual Divisional retreat was held at the Hyatt Regency on December 5th, 2018. Thanks to everyone who participated in the Divisional retreat in December. There were terrific presentations by Dr. Barbara Liu, Thiru Yogaparan, Dr. Rajin Mehta and guest speaker Dr. Julie Maggi. In particular, we thank the Divisional Executive who worked on the content for this workshop and to Hellen and Meghan for facilitating its organisation and success.
