Producing Clinic
with Tay Tong

Monday, 27 August 2018
7.00pm – 9.30pm

Centre 42 Rehearsal Studio

Through the Open Call which closed on Sunday, 12 August, we received 15 project proposals and ideas spanning a range of art forms and practices, from playwriting to dance/movement works, to public art installations.

Whilst we had initially indicated that Tay Tong would only be picking up to 3 submissions, he decided to meet with all fifteen projects for a one-on-one consultation.

A big thank you to Tay Tong for his generosity, and of course to the applicants who took time to work on their submissions!

The following projects will be presented and discussed at the Producing Clinic next Monday, 27 August:

GIRLS by Bernice Lee
Bernice would like to devise and create a group work with 8-10 young women, a manifestation of her “ghosting” choreographic practice developed in residence at Dance Nucleus.

METHOD HOMINID by Liz Kow

OUIJA by Void Deck Games
An interactive horror theatre project revolving around a restless spirit who answers the call of two grieving sisters searching for clues to their sibling’s suicide.

PROJECT SAKATE by GroundZ-0
A multilingual theatre collective led by director/actor Zelda Tatiana Ng, GroundZ-0 hopes to embark on their first international production adapting the work of a well-known Japanese playwright.

YOU CAN REACH THE SKY by Ellison Tan and Myra Loke
An immersive theatrical experience for pre-walking infants in development since 2017. Working in the field of Theatre for Young Audiences, Ellison and Myra are are pioneering the idea of “baby theatre” in Singapore.

Come hear about these projects, and gain some insights about the critical steps in gestating a project from concept, to creative development and outcome!

MY ⇋ SG is a series of network meetings between producers in Singapore and Malaysia, coordinated by Producers SG. Join us for our second session, co-hosted by CausewayEXchange 2018, as we collectively attempt to address these questions and map new possibilities.
