March 2021:

Elaine Bilyeu
Tech Access Awareness Coordinator
Tech Access, Kansas City Public Library

What Do You Do?
My name is Elaine Bilyeu and I am the Tech Access Awareness Coordinator with the Kansas City Public Library’s Tech Access Initiative Team. I joined the team in October as an AmeriCorps VISTA and work to increase our visibility within the community.

Who Do You Serve?
I serve our patrons and our many amazing KC community partners. I want our patrons to know how we can better assist them in their day to day lives and celebrate what they are doing in our community as well. I am a big fan of collaboration! Follow my team @KCPLTechAccess

Any Accomplishments You'd Like to Share?
Recently I have been working with other community AmeriCorps members to put together new opportunities for the library to assist their clients with telehealth services and higher education endeavors. I think that equity within technology has truly been highlighted in the last year since COVID has disrupted many of our lives. My team is doing some really fantastic projects right now that I think and hope will help close the digital equity gap here in Kansas City!
